Kim Alpert Popolizio
holds a B.A. from the Fashion Institute of Technology in textile design. After designing textiles in New York City’s fashion district, Kim chose a new direction in landscape design and horticulture. She enrolled in the continuing education program at the New York Botanical Garden and holds certificates for both Floral Design and Landscape Design. During her tenure at the Garden, Kim also interned with the NYBG garden staff. During the past 8 years, Kim has gardened for Martha Stewart at her private homes: Turkey Hill, Cantitoe Corners, and Skylands. Kim consults and designs ornamental, and vegetable gardens in the greater New York City area. Kim is a member of Metro Hort.
Erika Hanson
holds an A.A. from Dutchess Community College with concentrations in both Photography and Literature. Erika is a trained horticulturist from the New York Botanical Garden School of Professional Horticulture, and is a NOFA-accredited organic land care professional. Erika gardened for Martha Stewart at her home and farm in Bedford, NY. There she assisted the head gardener with curation, managed the organic vegetable gardens, and appeared on numerous television segments demonstrating garden topics. Erika is the creator of Dirty Horticulture, a garden adventure blog. Since 2004 Erika has been the head gardener on a private estate in Dutchess county, NY and continues to develop the gardens there. Annually, Erika travels to England to volunteer at the gardens at Great Dixter. She is an active member of Metro Hort, the Royal Horticultural Society, Mad Gardeners, and the Garden Writers Association.
